Comcast Completes $3.2 Million Expansion in Leo-Cedarville

Company Now Offers Gigabit Speeds and Full Suite of Services Across Leo-Cedarville

In its ongoing effort to invest areas across Indiana, Comcast has completed a $3.2 million fiber-backed build into Leo-Cedarville where the company now offers up to 1.2 Gigabits-per-second (Gbps) internet to more than 1,500 Hoosier households and businesses.

“Reliable, high-speed internet is essential to the growth of rural communities,” said Allen County Commissioner Nelson Peters. “Working with Comcast to make this build a reality for Hoosiers in Allen County demonstrates the power of a strong partnership as we work together to connect many more households in areas that were previously thought of as rural.”

In the last three years, Comcast has invested more than $500 million to strengthen and expand its Indiana network — including building more than 6,000 miles of fiber that covers about 70% of all Hoosier households.

“Working with community leaders, like Nelson Peters, ensures that we can serve the greatest number of residents and businesses with a wide array of advanced products and services that meet the community’s varying needs for fast, reliable, secure bandwidth and more,” said Jeremy Burton, Government Affairs manager for Comcast.

Residential customers will be able to take advantage of Xfinity’s full suite of internet products. These include Internet Essentials, which brings broadband into the home for eligible low-income families for free when combined with the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program; speeds up to 1.2 Gbps; advanced WiFi technology capable of delivering speeds faster than a Gig to support the ever-increasing number of connected devices in their homes; xFi, a digital dashboard to control their home WiFi network that includes Advanced Security protecting every device on the network from malware and security threats; and Flex, a 4K platform for internet-only customers that seamlessly delivers their streaming content.

The expanded network will also reach businesses in these communities. Comcast Business offers a suite of connectivity, communications, networking, cybersecurity, wireless, and managed solutions to help organizations of different sizes prepare for what’s next. Powered by the nation’s largest Gig-speed broadband network and backed by 24/7 customer support, Comcast Business is the nation’s largest cable provider to small and mid-size businesses and one of the leading service providers to the Enterprise market.
